Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police state early analysis suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

An important official said the attack made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine victims by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
